Our campaign to build a new elementary wing at St. Peter's — making room for the children we serve today, and honoring the sixty years that brought us here.
Who we are
St. Peter's Montessori has been in operation since 1964 in Litchfield Park. Starting with just 6 kindergartners and one classroom. Over the past 60 years, we have grown to over 120 students among 4 different programs from infant to elementary, and 6 classrooms.
Through the years we have remained committed to our mission: To bring out the best in every child, using Montessori curriculum, guided by the traditional Anglican appreciation of diversity, inclusion, and open inquiry. As the only AMI-Recognized, faith-based Montessori school in the state of Arizona, with AMI-trained guides, we offer a unique experience to students and families that blends the peacefulness of our campus sanctuary with the goal of Dr. Montessori's pedagogy to bring out the best in every child.
The work we are doing at St. Peter's not only prepares a student for the next chapter in their educational career, it prepares them to face the world as confident, resourceful, and innovative thinkers who have compassion for others and the world around them.
Why we must expand
Growing Together is the title of our next project at St. Peter's. It honors both our need for campus expansion (our future) and the legacy we formed over 60 years ago to bring the community together one child at a time (our history).
As our students mature and the West Valley grows, our campus needs to expand into two elementary classrooms providing space for both Lower Elementary, 1st - 3rd grades, and Upper Elementary, 4th - 6th grades.
Today, our campus does not have enough space for current elementary students. To accommodate our growth, our elementary classroom is temporarily located in our hall.
The project
In June of 2026, the school engaged an architect firm to design a new elementary wing to include two elementary classrooms, a master garden, an outdoor environment for study, meditation, and physical activity, and a full kitchen.
The building will replace our existing elementary classroom located on our current campus. Not only are we solving for our immediate need to expand, we are carefully considering our future in the design to provide options for further expansion.

Growing Together enables St. Peter's to expand our student population by a meaningful 25% and support the growing needs of our community while maintaining our legacy of high-quality, traditional Montessori education in the West Valley.
