Over 50 Years of Excellence in Education

Head of School

Ms. Bonnie is an Army Brat who is originally from Indiana, but lived much of her life in the South. She has a B.A. in English and History, and will begin her Masters in Montessori Leadership in January of 2019. Ms. Bonnie has been in Montessori in various capacities since the late 90s. Her experience as an assistant in every level from infant to middle school has helped to inspire a deep love of the Montessori method and the life-long gifts it gives children. Her time as an AMI Primary guide gave her valuable insight to what a powerful effect a director and administrator can have on the day to day activities of a classroom. Time away from Montessori as a small business owner gave her a new set of skills while confirming that Montessori was where she was called to be. Her dedication to the child’s experience and AMI pedagogy guides every decision she makes as director and administrator of St. Peter’s. Ms. Bonnie lives in Glendale/Peoria with her husband, teenage stepson, son, and a sweet rescue mutt. Her son will start Primary with St. Peter’s in the Fall of 2018. When she isn’t daydreaming about travel, she enjoys reading about pediatric neuroscience, peaceful parenting, and natural living. She has basic Spanish skills and hopes to improve them over the next few years.

She completed her Montessori training in 2013 from New England Montessori Education Center in Boston. Since then, she has been devoted to promoting and living the Montessori philosophy, and “following the child.” She also completed Catechesis of the Good Shepherd training in July 2018. She enjoys preparing (and eating) traditional Filipino dishes from her family recipes, loves children’s literature, especially Curious George stories, and is happy to be back in beautiful Arizona. She is excited to be part of the St. Peter’s community.

Pastor Amy has been serving in ministry for nearly 25 years. She has an MDiv and PhD in Theology with particular interest in practical theology. Her interest in St. Peter's Montessori began with her three children attending beginning in 2012. She is invested in the faith formation and scriptural teaching from our youngest to most experienced students. Outside of chapel, she is a professor of Theology & Youth Ministry as well as multiple pastoral duties. She loves time with her family and can be found hiking, cooking, or playing board games around the family table.
